The handles are a little shiny, I guess it must be due to some sort of glaze, but it seems really strong because I do not baby my bag and I think it is going to last me a long time. The canvas seems the same as well, really easy to maintain. In some ways it doesn't seem as nice as all leather, but the canvas is also really fun.
