I'm late to the party, but I agree with many others here that I am more apt to think a mono is fake than an ebene. (Plus ebene gives you less worries about water marks etc.) Not that I go around assuming things are fake .... I'm just saying that between those two specific items, my radar would go up sooner on the mono, simply because most people who want the fakes, *probably* want them just to show off the name itself -- hence why mono fakes are more common than ebene fakes. Hope that makes sense.With that said, I want to add that I too understand your concerns of whether or not someone else will think it's fake. I 'get' it. Though I like ebene best, I did want at least one thing casual in mono, and so I went with a men's mono crossbody. I wanted to avoid vachetta worries, and so went with the mens (which has black leather). I love it, carry it often, and it fit exactly the criteria I wanted. But I too had worries that since it's more uncommon, and is mono yet lacks vachetta, there are probably some out there who assume it's fake. So in that sense, I'm on the same page as you. ..... Well you know what? What *really* matters is that *you* know it's real. Really, who cares if others think it's fake. If they say something, reply proudly that of course it's real. And if they don't say anything ... well ... eh ... who cares. *You'll* know it, and it will show in your demeanor ... in your carriage of yourself.
